Our little girl turned six!!! It's so hard to believe! It was a grand day and a great party! Katie is fairly obsessed with the Wizard of Oz right now, so of course we had to have a Wizard of Oz themed party - complete with the "horse of a different color" pinata - thanks to Uncle Michael! We invited all her friends from the Pre-K class from last year and they LOVED it! We had kiddos sliding down the big slide 10 at a time and rolling over each other - it was nervewracking for us, but apparently that was fun for them! Pinata time was memorable too - one of the other dads (and Uncle Mak) helped Shawn to rig up the pinata for the kids. I don't know what was more fun for me - watching the kids or watching the guys try to figure that out. It has become an annual tradition that I look forward to. Hee. We may have to plant a big tree in the backyard just for this purpose!! After the party was done, we gave out favor bags with Wizard of Oz CDs in them, and apparently opened the movie to a whole new generation. Several moms have told me their kiddos listen to the CD daily and one other girl now wants to be Dorothy for Halloween! What a little trailblazer, my sweet Bug is!!
